CARROTS

Rylan went to the doctor for his 6 month check-up on Tuesday. He weighs 12 pounds, 12 ounces and he is 24 inches long. Yep, he's still tiny! Dr. Morgan didn't seem too concerned, but she did say that we need to get some more calories in him. So we started some solid food. Mommy is making his baby food. We tried carrots for the first time this morning. It wasn't quite as eventful as we thought it might be. He seemed to like the flavor, but the texture was definitely different than the cereal he is used to eating. By the time we were finishing up, he was ready to feed himself! Applesauce is next. Yummy! Please pray he takes to the new foods quickly so he can start packing on the pounds.

Erin, You go girl!! I'm proud of you for making Rylan's baby food. It's one of those things that crossed my mind, but it just simply crossed it and kept going. I never thought of doing it again!! What's your method? Is it easy?

that is really great that you are making his food. I know a couple of people who did it, but i never made the effort. it was so much easier for me to just buy the jars.

rylan is super tiny. how big was he when he was born? i looked at a growth chart & he is barely on for height & under by a pound. hopefully he'll love the new foods & pack on a little. but, hey, if the doctor isn't worried, i wouldn't be either!
